Heinz Edelmann

Heinz Edelmann

My next artist i wanted to focus on was Heinz Edelmann. He is a German illustrator and designer. He created the graphic design for the famous Beatles movie, The Yellow Submarine. The Yellow Submarine was a famous movie in the 70's that followed the band the Beatles travels through a hallucinogenic viewpoint. Almost similar to Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, yet a cartoon style. I really admirer Edelmann's creativity. He has created this fantasy-like world where bright colors jump out at you. Anything can happen near the yellow submarine. He even added the Beatles music to these moving mystical creatures. Even though he was ashamed of this artwork and made sure after the movie to move away from trippy designs, i really love his creativity. I like the basic and simple design of all the band members, yet their colors make the whole thing beautiful.

annie leibovitz

Annie Leibovitz

Annie Leibovitz is someone i look up to when it comes to fashion photography. She is an active photographer in Vogue Magazine. Her set ups and backgrounds of all her magazine articles amaze me. What really brought her into the Hollywood light was her famous photo-shoot with John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Here she promised Lennon he would be on the cover of rolling stone. Originally the picture was just suppose to be on him by himself, then Ono joined and they decided to really express their love by being in the nude. This picture is not only famous because John was such a star, but only five hours later, John was shot and killed. My most favorite photo shoot she did was Alice in Wonderland, Vogue USA december 2003. In this article she photographed the model, Natalia Vodianova, as Alice in Wonderland. The pictures are fantasy- related and make Alice fashionable. She even includes the legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld in the shoot. The photographs are interesting and magical. There are so many Annie Leibovitz photos that follow this exotic theme and thats why i feel like her photographs are such a success.
